Masculine card

I need a few masculine cards for my stash. I always find these a bit of a struggle (anyone else feel the same?) and realised I have so many flowers and other 'pretty' stamps, but not that many that are useful for masculine cards.  However, here is one which features one of my fave Tim Holtz sets, Bitty Grunge. I'm quite pleased with how this turned out (suitable understated?) and will send it to my Godson in London for his next birthday in November.

More Christmas tags

I'm on a roll with Christmas tags so decided I might as well keep going. These are shaker tags. I got the idea from Cristina Kowalczyk who had a great tutorial on her blog. You can check it out here (scroll down a bit).

Happy 50th

A friend from my running group has just celebrated her 50th birthday. A few of us went out for dinner. Ginene didn't want any gifts - perfect opportunity to bring out a handmade card instead.

I CASEd this amazing card by Danielle Flanders.  Happy birthday, Ginene!

More Christmas tags

On a roll with my Christmas tags - trying to get everything done well in advance. Love the round Tag Sale #4 die from PTI. Looks like an ornament so works really well for the festive season. I haven't used a lot of my dark green Pinefeather ribbon or cardstock but think the dark green ribbon goes well here. Traditional colour scheme I guess!

The 'squiggles' round the doves are the sentiments joy and noel stamped in a repeating pattern.

Christmas tags

I saw this recent post by Melissa Phillips. Love the tags she created with PTI's wreath for all seasons and thought I could do something similar for Christmas tags.

And here they are (jingle bells and all). They came together quite quickly, even with some painting. And what a great idea to turn a matstack or label shape into a tag. Can't wait to try it again!

Best wishes

Time for another 'flip-its' card. I'm sending this one to my friend Pattie so she can see the die in action. Hope you like it, Pattie!

Petite petals

I saw some crochet flowers in a craft shop the other day, but they were over $1 each. Thought I might make some of my own instead.

There are lots of free crochet patterns online but I adapted one I found on Nichole Heady's blog. You can find it here.  So here are the little flowers I made (very quick and easy).

Butterfly dreams

I seem to have butterflies on the brain at the moment - must be something to do with the fact that spring is here. Not that you'd notice much difference in the weather. The daffodils have been out for a while, but there are definitely some more blossoms around. Just hope it finally stops raining!

Maybe this will cheer someone up in the meantime:

Thinking of you

I recently bought a new die from Sizzix - one of the flip-its dies. It's an easy way to create an interactive card with a central panel that flips backwards and forwards. I think I'm going to get a lot of use out of this die!

Pretty hello

I just took delivery of some pattern packs from PTI so you might see a few colours featuring on cards in the next few weeks. Love the mix of patterns in the packs - so versatile and useful for putting together a quick card.  Here's one with fine linen and summer sunrise papers:
