Tell a story

I've been subscribing to Ali Edwards' Story Kits this year, and trying to get better at telling the stories, rather than just minimising the journaling. Here's another layout from my European travel album - the story of a day trip with my favourite aunt.

The beginning

I've mentioned that I'm working on an album documenting my travels in the early 1990s. It's been a lot of fun reliving those days.  And I'm enjoying using product rather than hoarding it!

Here's a double spread from my Canada trip which started my love of travelling ;)

Practice your pirate

As my niece will be off sailing this summer, I thought this would be the perfect card for her - using Studio Calico's kids' Valentines stamp set. Arrr me hearties!

Go - Madrid

I'm making good progress with my 90's layouts. I've got such a lot of use from Studio Calico's world stamps - here's the Europe stamp in action, paired with a card from Ali Edwards' Go Story kit. The alpha stamp is SC's Wes stamp, which I'm using for most of my titles.

Cardstock challenge

I use a lot of white cardstock for my scrapbook layouts. Patterned paper also gets a look-in, but I rarely use coloured cardstock these days. So I thought I'd challenge myself to use something other than white for a background for these pics from Toledo, Spain. I quite like the effect, but don't think grey will be displacing white just yet!

My Project Life 6x8

Fast forward to July. Some fun cards in the Studio Calico kits this month - like the July kit out. It's winter here, but I can dream about summer!

Along the Thames

Still working on my travel album from the UK. This turned out to be one of my favourite layouts. Managed to find some free Photo Booth templates for Photoshop Elements which made putting together these photos super easy.

And here's the last spread from June. Lots of fin colours and patterns this month.

My Project Life 6x8

Here are another couple of spreads from my album. Still using my Studio Calico kits here, although I'm planning on a different approach for next year - more about that later ;)

My Project Life 6x8

Not sure where the year is going, but I'm keeping up to day with my album. Here's a spread from June, again using my Studio Calico kits.  I recently started a subscription with Ali Edwards' Story Kits and am really impressed with the kits so far. Will share some layouts soon:

Wallace Collection

I haven't been to the Wallace Collection in years - probably about 20 to be exact! This time I went back and spent a few happy hours enjoying the collection. Definitely worth seeing.

Barbican

Only went to the theatre once this trip, but it was a great performance of Henry IV Part 1, preceded by a fascinating backstage tour. Definitely something I'd do again.

DLR

Had a fund day on the Docklands Light Railway, exploring different areas I don't know so well. This is a reminder of a fun day:

Boden

Every time I got to London, I always visit a Boden shop - it's such a treat being able to try things on before I buy! Here's another layout from my UK travel album:

My Project Life 6x8

Oops sorry for the lack of posting. I have been creating but work has been crazy busy and I just haven't had much time to write up posts. Must find a more efficient way to blog!
Here are a couple of pages from my May album using Studio Calico's Carolina Moon kit.

Trafalgar Square

Here's another layout from my London album - a nice afternoon at the National Gallery and time spent wandering around Trafalgar Square. Lots of tourists of course, and the obligatory piper.

Absolutely Fabulous

Or Ab-Fab if you don't have enough letters or space to form the full title! More Studio Calico kits in action here, plus some older paper from my stash.

Russell Square

Here's another layout from my UK album. Love the colours and Lisse Street kit was a perfect fit. Even found a spot for the squirrel!

Let's go!

Another couple of favourite layouts from my travel album. Street photography and editing with actions courtesy of A Beautiful Mess.  These are some more papers and embellishments from Studio Calico's Park Ave and Lisse Street kits. Love how all the colours worked together.
