Birdie best wishes

I've been having a bit of a clear out, trying to use up old paper and stickers that I've been hoarding  storing for a while. Recently I've been more restrained as far as buying patterned paper is concerned, mainly because I still have a few pads to use up!  I have such good intentions when I buy a pack of paper, but have usually had enough of it about half way through.

These are some remnants from Basic Grey's Curio collection. My Aunt is very fond of birds, so this will be the perfect card for her.

A new beginning

It's time for a new month and I'm facing some changes at work (positive so far!), so this sentiment seemed quite appropriate. A quick card I put together using Basic Grey's Luscious collection paper and chipboard. Best wishes for any new beginnings that you're facing :)

Birthday crafting kit

It's my friend Pattie's birthday this month. Like me, she loves cardmaking, so I decided to put together a crafting kit as a gift.

I decorated a white metal box with patterned paper  (from Basic Grey's Nook & Pantry collection)

And filled it with all kinds of goodies:

I used glassine bags to hold ribbon and a variety of  embellishments:

And also included a portfolio of patterned paper and a stamp set:

Luscious part 2

Here's a bold spring card which features more of the Luscious line from Basic Grey.  It's been a slow start to spring here, so this should help get in the mood!

GratitudeJournal

I was inspired by Dawn McVey's Gratitude Journal stamp set to make a journal of my own.  I decided to use PTI's  coasters as covers, so my album is 4 inches square and bound with a D ring. Jenni Bowlin's Haven paper collection turned out to be exactly the right size.

I decorated my book with journaling blocks, chipboard pieces and various little tags and doodads.  Danielle Flanders gives instructions for the little twine 'flowers' here on her blog.

How luscious

I love the Luscious collection from Basic Grey - gorgeous colours and patterns.  I've been experimenting with crystal effects and love the look it gives little paper embellishments. The little pink flower is so shiny in real life but probably doesn't show up so well on a photo!  No sentiment as I haven't decided who to send it to yet.

It's time to use up some scraps again. I found some pieces of pattenred paper from the Curio collection which perfectly on this card.  The chipboard pieces are also from the collection. No stamping!
