Altenew stamp sets

I recently bought some stamps from Altenew and I have to say I'm very impressed with them. The layering stamps, in particular are so detailed and produce such realistic images. Here's an example with one of my new favourites- Peony Bouquet.

Happy birthday

Had so much fun with the latest Make it Monday challenge from Papertry Ink that I decided to make a couple more cards using the 'colour isolation' technique - using a neutral background and just using colour for a focal point.

Needed some more birthday cards for my stash, so this is what I came up with:

Happy birthday

Yep, still working on those birthday cards. Love the foil effect here. The flowers come from Papertrey Ink's Mini Blooms:

Birthday cards

Got a few birthdays coming up in the next month, so I need to get on to some card making. Here's one featuring Papertrey Ink's Beautiful brushstrokes which is still one of my favourite sets.

Happy birthday

At the moment, I can't get enough of ... gold. Gold foil especially. Here's birthday card I whipped up with some PTI supplies:

Birthday wishes

Here's another card featuring PTI's Beautiful Brushstrokes which would have to be one of my favourite sets ever. I cased a card by Danielle Flanders and love the look. Will definitely use this design again.

Floral birthday

There are a few birthdays coming up in the next few months. I never seem to have enough cards or the right cards on hand, so I thought it was a good idea to get caught up. This one features Ruby Rose from PTI. For the base I used a Project Life card - perfect size after a bit of trimming!

Sprinkles on top

Yet another shaker card from a couple of weekends ago when I spent several hours in my craft room with Betsy Veldman's cute kit. Watch out everyone who knows me - I think you'll be getting a shaker card this year!

Another shaker

I'm on a roll with those shaker cards. Here's another birthday card. They're definitely the card I send most often.  This uses Betsy Veldman's Make it Market kit again:

Happy birthday shaker

I've got a few birthdays coming up in the next few months, so today was a good opportunity to make a few cards for my stash. Here's another shaker made with Betsy Veldman's Shakers & Sprinkles kit. I used some vellum as the back of the shaker element - adds a softness to the patterned paper:

Elegant birthday

Time for another card featuring Rosie Posie and PTI's Luxe Letterpress Kit. This one will be included in a set of cards I'm making as a gift. The idea is that the recipient will have cards for a variety of occasions which they can send to friends and family.

Masculine birthday

My Godson has his 16th birthday next month. Always short of 'boys' cards in my stash, so I whipped up this one for the occasion. It features Tim Holtz's Bitty Grunge set - perfect for masculine cards!  I'm sending Jonathan a cheque so he can buys something for himself.

Birthday wreath

You know those times when you get a really good idea for a card or project? Unfortunately it doesn't happen to me that often, but I had a sudden flash of inspiration when I was winding up some button twine on my fingers the other day.

Hmm, that looks like a wreath.  And here it is:

Birthday princess

A friend of mine always jokes that she's a bit of a princess, so I couldn't have found a better image for her birthday card this month.  Love the images in the Tremendous Treats series. Colouring them is incredibly relaxing.

I don't usually decorate the insides of my cards (too lazy I'm afraid) but couldn't resist adding this little cake image as well. Happy birthday Williamena!

Ruby Rose

I couldn't resist Dawn McVey's new set Ruby Rose, even though I do have a few floral stamp sets. Cute images that can be layered and combined. Here's a birthday card:

And I also made a matching notepad to give as a gift. I used my Doodlebug glitter to decorate the centre panel. Not very easy to spot..

Back to cards...

It's been a while since I made cards - just felt like a bit of a break was needed. But I was on a roll last weekend and churned out 4. Just realised they all use pretty much the same colour scheme. Think I'm trying to channel spring and get out of the winter slump!

This first card uses Rosie Posie which I love even more now that it's a 2 step set. My shading with copics was never up to this standard :)

Birthday blooms

It's my sister-in-law's birthday next month and I'm getting ready to send off her gift to her. Why is it when you have a stash of cards that there's still not one to suit? I whipped up this pretty floral number using PTI's Funky Florals.

Floral birthday

A colleague at work had her birthday on St Patricks Day. I wanted to make a card for her but was singularly lacking in inspiration. Melissa Phillips came to the rescue with her recent Make It Monday post on stamping with two colours. I CASEd Melissa's gorgeous card so hope Brigid will like this.  I had to restamp the sentiment on a separate strip because it didn't show up very well on the main panel after I'd embossed it:
