PTI Stamp-a-Faire - master colour challenge

The challenge - to create a project using one of the 'masters' inspired coloured schemes featured on Nichole's blog.  I chose this scheme, based on the gorgeous work by Renoir.

And here's what I came up with:

Stamp-a-Faire - sugar coated embellishments

Another of the Stamp-a-Faire challenges was to create some sweet sugar coated embellishments using glitter. You can check out the details and videos here.

I'd have liked to try out Danielle's striped die cut look, but the only sentiment dies I have are much too fine so I decided to apply glitter to the whole word instead. I layered a piece of cardstock with scor-tape and then ran the two layers through my big shot. And this is the result:

Supplies (PTI unless otherwise noted)
Paper - kraft, rustic cream, sweet blush, pure poppy; green from stash
Stamps - Tremendous Treats
Ink - Memento Tuxedo black
Accessories - wonderful words die, limitless layers dies, ribbon; copics; prisma glitter; foam tape; score-tape

Stamp-a-Faire- tea staining technique

Thought I'd have a go at a couple of projects for PTI's Stamp-a-Faire. The first challenge was to use tea to dye some fabric. You can check out the post and videos here.

All I had on hand was some vintage lace, so I popped that in a bowl with some black tea bags. I also managed to use the tea to stain some card stock. I then inked the edges of the card stock with PTI's tea dye duo. Here's my layered flower tag.  I cut apart the lace to make the leaves:

Thought I might actually invest in some muslin, so I can use the technique for making some fabric flowers!

Stamp-a-faire camp card set challenge

I wasn't planning to play along with this challenge, but I just loved Jess Witty's wrapped butterfly card set so much I decided I needed to make one myself.  Pretty much followed her design and colours.  I thought the butterfly seals were such a lovely idea and I can't wait to send a card and use one!

The glassine bag wrap design Jess used wasn't big enough to take my envelopes, so I used Betsy's wrap design. Love the way you can see a peek of the cards through the bag:

And while I was watching some videos, I whipped up a few jars of grapefruit marmalade. Can't wait to have some for breakfast - yum!

Stamp-a-faire projects

Woke up early, so thought I might as well start with some SAF projects. Great fun to watch the various videos and decide what to tackle.

Took me ages to do the flowers - I either kept burning them too much or not getting enough 'curl' in the petals. I managed to drop one in the wax, but quite like the extra dimension it gives!

Stamp-a-faire summer camp

Feels strange to be talking about a 'summer' camp in the middle of winter, but I'm all ready to go for the big day tomorrow over at Papertrey Ink. I've prepped some materials and cleaned my desk.

No crafty friends close by, so I'll be home alone tomorrow, but plan to skype with my friend Pattie in Texas. Really looking forward to a fun day!
