Here's a little ensemble for a friends who's really into her teas. The stamp is from Studio Calico - picked it up in the recent stamp sale and I think it'll come in handy.

Festive Friday 15

Looking for some more inspiration for making Christmas cards, I thought I'd take a look at the latest Festive Friday challenge. It's to create a project with a children's theme. You can check out the challenge here.

Thought I'd use one of my favourite sets, PTI's Tremendous Treats: Holiday for this one. And here's what I came up with.

Might not be very easy to spot, but I gave the doily a dusting of glitter. Here's the close up:

Festive Friday Challenge #2

I heard about a new challenge on Melissa Phillips' blog. Check out the Festive Friday blog for some inspiration to help you beat the holiday rush!

The latest challenge is to create a project with a rustic country theme. Here's the inspiration photo:

And here's what I came up with:

And here's a close up of the wreath:

P1020938_new

Love the idea of incorporating burlap but I don't have any on hand.  I decided to add a bit of texture with a burlap stamp instead. My friend Pattie sent me some cute die cut wreaths (thanks Pattie!) and this was a perfect occasion to use one. I'm making an early start on Christmas cards this year, so can't wait to play along with more challenges.

Supplies
Paper - PTI kraft
Stamps - Market Street Stamps Bit of Burlap, PTI Peace Joy Love
Ink - Amuse Cherry, Versamark
Accessories - Memory Box Breezy wreath die cut, brads from stash

Make it Monday 64

How about that - second MIM in a row! This challenge was to use colour inspiration, and Nichole provided some colour combos on her blog. This is the photo I chose:

And this is what I came up with. Have to say that I did find trying to use each colour several times a bit of a challenge. Maybe it's something I need to work on some more!

Make it Monday 63

Can't remember the last time I participated in one of these but here is a tag featuring a glittered butterfly which fits the challenge this week - to make a glitter die cut. Perfect for Sophie's birthday coming up in a few months.

I used my new xyron sticker maker and then cut the butterfly with my cricut. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it would cut through a layer of cardstock after it had been through the sticker maker. Now I'm visualising lots of die cut glittered letters!

MIM #35 - washi tape take 2

I had so much fun making my own washi tape using tissue paper and scor-tape for this post that I decided to keep going and make some more. I turned this tape into panels for the focal point. Love this butterfly from Hero Arts!

So without further ado, here's what I came up with:

Make it Monday #6

Two in a row. Can't believe it. Mind you, just sneaking in with this one. It's already Monday here (thank goodness for the international date line).  This week's Make it Monday challenge was to use a partial debossing technique. Actually mine's a partial embossing technique using a cuttlebug folder. I do have some PTI impression plates, but didn't have one which went with this frame.  Here's what I came up with:

Make it Monday #5

I've finally had time to make a card for a Make it Monday challenge over at PTI - mainly because this was something I'd already started working on!  This week's challenge is to incorporate distressed edges. I used some white ink around the edges of this card and also distressed the top layer. I didn't want anything that looked too distressed, so just used my fingernail!

Supplies
Paper - PTI scarlet jewel, DCWV Marisposa paper stack
Stamps - PTI Butterfly Dreams (sentiment)
Ink - Versamark, PTI fresh snow
Accessories - Tulle, white embossing powder, clear rinestones, sewing machine, clear rinestones
