Papertrey February blog hop

Welcome and thanks for visiting! This month, the theme is Design Team Appreciation - the challenge was to find a project  that inspired us and then recreate it with our own spin.

I'm totally in awe of the Design Team and what they come up with - thanks so much  to each one of you for all the inspiration!  I've learnt so much in the last year.

The project that particularly inspired me this month was one of Dawn's cards which features the new set  Take Three: Spring. Here is a photo of her stunning card.  I was really inspired by the clean fresh look of Dawn's design and the way the set provides a gorgeous focal point:

I don't have this set (yet!) so have instead used some of the images from Turning a New Leaf to 'create'  my own take three with a twist.  Here is what I came up with:

Not sure how easy it is to see, but the red leaf is embossed to make it pop - I used Versamark together with my SU dye ink to make the embossing powder stick.  I'll add the sentiment to the inside of the card once I decide who to give it to.

Supplies
Paper - white card from stash, SU read red, whisper white, black card from stash
Stamps - PTI turning a new leaf
Ink - Momento black, Versamark, SU riding hood red,
Accessories - cuttlebug square die, clear embossing powder, buttons

  11. I think the red leaf pops simply because of the color contrast you used too, nice job.
