Sweet little tag

I've been parceling up some baby clothes to send to my brother and sister-in-law. Of course I need the perfect tag to accompany the gift. Good thing that I recently ordered a *few* sets from Papertrey Ink, including a couple of baby sets. Here is the adorable teddy bear from Melissa Bickford's Polka Dot Parade:

Not sure if you can see it, but that bear is dusted all over with Doodlebug glitter - almost good enough to eat!

Nature Baby

I'm super excited that I'm finally going to be an aunt in September. Couldn't resist doing a little shopping now that I know the baby will be a girl. Unfortunately for my wallet, there are so many lovely things around. If you're after organic merino or cotton, Nature Baby is the place to shop. Check it out here.

And here are a few cuties for my little niece....

Birthday blooms

It's my sister-in-law's birthday next month and I'm getting ready to send off her gift to her. Why is it when you have a stash of cards that there's still not one to suit? I whipped up this pretty floral number using PTI's Funky Florals.

Draught excluder

It's getting cooler here and I realised it was about time to tackle the gaps under several doors in my house - including the front door! We always used to have those draught 'snakes' at home growing up, and I thought it would be fun to make my own and use up some fabric scraps in the process.

I found a few instructions online. Check out some ideas here and here.

I decided to use up some quilting scraps and went with all sorts of different sized strips sewn together. I literally tore the fabric into strips which measured about 30cm long:

Then laid them out in the order I wanted.  I then sewed them together, making a piece about 95cm wide (wide enough to cover my doors and the frames on either side):

And here is the finished draught excluder. I made a liner out of pantyhose and used kitty litter for the stuffing. Works well and definitely keeps those draughts out!

Tweet on you

Time for something other than flowers and couldn't resist this cute little bird in PTI's Little Bitty Bird Additions. Just the kind of tag to cheer anyone's day up

Colour galore

Here's another flower tag. I've had a lot of fun colouring all of these little blooms. In terms of copic colours, I usually use the PTI trios.

This time it's the turn of the chrysanthemums. A few more to come if you can bear it!

Gladdies

I've just noticed the spelling of gladiolus in this set. I wonder if it's American as we normally spell it gladiolus (plural gladioli). Well I just checked. The North American Gladiolus Council spells it with a 'u' but apparently there is an alternate spelling with an 'a'. Thank goodness for that - I do hate using sentiments with incorrect spelling!

So, here are a couple of gladiolas or gladioli if you prefer :)

Sweet pea

Back to flowers today - this time a tag made with another stamp from Papertrey's YOF Collection. Love the small size as they're so easy to colour. I'm tempted to make a whole set of these to give as a gift.

Mehndi medallion

This was a bit of an experiment but I like how it turned out. A sprinkle of embossing powder and a swirl of sponging and there you have it. Now I'm tempted to make some more of these in all sorts of colours....
