London layout

Another scrapbook layout from my recent holiday. And a few more to come too! This is probably one of my favourites in the album so far.  I'm trying to be a bit more creative and not just slap a few photos down on the page. The problem is, I just don't have the patience to spend hours on one layout.

What about you? How long do you spend on your projects?

Holiday layout

Bit of a scrapbooking frenzy at the moment - trying to get my holiday photos from my recent trip organised before friends come to stay.

Here are a couple of layouts from the first part of my trip in Dubai. I've been before, but this time wanted to venture into the desert. Had a great time!

These kinds of photos are the only ones I bother to print out and put in albums now. The rest just stay on the computer :)  For scrapbooking, I just usually use up whatever cardstock, stickers etc I happen to have in my stash. The albums are from Creative Memories (although this size has now been discontinued).

Christmas in March?

Well, not quite, but I did just pick up a few Christmas items on sale recently, so I thought I'd get a head start on some packaging and card ideas.  Here's a quick and simple gift bag I put together using a lunch sack, PTI's front and centre die and a lovely new dove die and embossing folder set from Sizzix. There's quite a lot of glitter on the dove, and it's very sparkly IRL.

One down, a few to go....

Best wishes

Time for one more card featuring Prima's resist canvas shapes.  Really loving using use (as you can probably tell!)  These ones are coloured using mists.

For a slightly softer look I stamped the 'trail' and sentiment using PTI's vintage tea dye duo.

Birthday wishes

I need to get a few birthday cards underway.  This one features some more Prima canvas resist shapes.  Great fun to use! I coloured these using Memento and Tim Holtz distress ink. I think the 'distress stain' bottles which are available would be easier to use as they have an applicator tip. Managed to get ink all over my fingers....

Deepest Sympathy

I seem to have been making a lot of sympathy cards recently. Here is one which features two of my favourite stamps - PTI's Turning a New Leaf and Rose Background from Hero Arts.  Probably hard to see from this angle, but all the roses are at slightly different heights to add a bit of depth.

Just a note

I made the mistake of popping into my local scrapbooking shop the other day, just to see what they had in stock. Not planning to buy anything ... famous last words, of course.  I came out with a couple of bags, including a big shot to replace my cuttlebug.  Have to say I'm very impressed with it so far. I always had problems with some dies in my cuttlebug, but the big shot is more stable and seems more powerful. Now that I have a dedicated craft space, portability isn't so much of an issue.

Anyway, I digress.  In the shop I also discovered some  resist canvas shapes from Prima and I've been having a lot of fun with them over the last few days.  I decided to use one of the shapes as a mask. So here's a card which features a cute string of birds.  I also coloured the canvas piece itself, and that will feature in a scrapbook layout I have in mind.

Sympathy

Recently, a friend asked me to make her a sympathy card.  I've had a beautiful handmade lace butterfly on hand for a while and thought this would be a perfect opportunity to it on a card.  This one also features some of my favourite Webster's Pages paper from the Hollywood Vogue collection - love those soft purples and greys:

And thank you again

Time for another quick and simple thank you card. I'm using up some old supplies from my stash - this rub on has been sitting around for longer than I care to remember. Perfect for those occasions when you're too busy (or lazy) to stamp:

Thank you

Just recently I had to whip up a few thank you cards. Since I had to produce a few, thought I would choose some simple designs for cards that were quick to produce.  I found some Pink Paislee Artisan Elements frames I've had for a while and thought they would be perfect for the job. Here are a couple of examples:

Just a rose

Roses - one of my favourite flowers.  Here's a quick card which features a paper rose from Crate Paper's Random collection.  I covered it in crackle accents to joosh it up a bit.  I'm short of time this week and simple cards definitely get my vote.

Butterfly thank you

I realised this week that my stash is woefully lacking in thank you cards.  I needed to send a few and had none on hand.  A quickly made a few to have on hand.  This is one which features Crate Paper's Random collection - one of my favourites:

Black / white

I've recently joined Pinterest and have been wasting spending a bit of time looking for card inspiration online.   I've been struck by the number and variety of boards featuring fabric and home decor items, and have started to look around my own home with new eyes.

The other day I was wearing this skirt and wondered what would happen if I turned it into a card.
