Have a purrfect day

I have a few cat-loving friends, so thought a few cards like this wouldn't come amiss. The cat stamp is from Papertrey Ink, the wreath from a Studio Calico set I picked up in a sale.  Colouring with copics.

More cards

Needed a few more cards for my stash so used a few Project Life kits supplies for these. Quick and easy! These are mostly Gossamer Blue kits, with a few extras from my stash.

Pretty pleased with how these turned out.

Cards with Project Life supplies

I've ended up with some spare PL cards, so thought I'd make a few cards for my stash. Here are a couple of 'just because' cards that I can send to friends overseas.  Both use supplies from Gossamer Blue:

Meow

My aunt and a number of friends are cat lovers, so when I saw this cute cat stamp from PTI I knew it was coming home with me. Here's a grey tabby. Love that the image can be coloured or paper pieced to look like some of my favourite cats:

Thinking of you

I've been using PTI's Make it Market Luxe Letterpress kit to make some cards to give away as gifts. Here's one which features one of my favourite floral sets - Rosie Posie.

The impression plates and dies which came with the kit give such an elegant look to cards!

Wishing you the best

I've been trying out some cut files from the Silhouette store. I don't have a Cameo machine but I've been able to save the Silhouette Studio files to use with my Cricut and Sure Cuts a Lot software. Lots of tips about this online, but I've found it's pretty easy with a Mac and that no extra software is needed. You can 'print' to PDF and then use Preview to save as an image which can be traced by SCAL or similar software such as Make the Cut.

Just a few easy steps:
1. Open the file in the Studio software (which is free to download).
2. Select all and choose ungroup all.
3. Select each item and fill with black to make tracing easy.
4. Make sure 'print cut lines' is not checked.
5. Choose file/print/PDF/open PDF in Preview
6. Save file as JPEG or PNG at your chosen resolution.
7. Import JPEG/PNG into SCAL/MTC and trace.

The image will be pretty large when you import it, but you can easily resize.

Here's a card I made using a cute retro typewriter from the Silhouette Online Store:

Butterfly

Really scraping the bottom of the barrel now to find some cards I haven't posted yet (haven't had much time for crafting recently!)

This is one I made months ago with some layered frame dies. Great for mailing because it's pretty flat, but the 'Peekaboo' frame opens

Jellicle cats

I came across these cat stickers from Melissa Frances and thought they'd be perfect for any cat lover like my Aunt. This one features stitching as well. I'm using my sewing machine a lot more now that I have it set out in my craft room and don't have to keep packing it away!

Tweet talk

Oops, not much time for crafting just now so I had to dig through photos to find something to post. Here's a little card I made a while back to send to my Aunt who's really fond of birds. It's a cute set from Market Street Stamps - pity they're not around any longer.

This one's perfect for paper piecing.

An apple a day?

I've been looking for some shaped card templates and came across a few at Paper Smooches. They come as a printable jpeg format, but if you have an electronic cutter you can trace the image and save it as a cut file which is what I did. Cute! Check out the other shaped card templates from Paper Smooches here.

Hello

I bought a Bigz frame die a while ago but have only just tried it out. It cuts a variety of frame sizes that can be used to make a great interactive card. Love the effect and great that it's so easy to mail as well!

Simple hello

I recently bought some Simple Stories paper - this is the Harvest line. Love the colours and patterns in the 6 x 6 pad.  Thought I'd try and achieve some depth without too much bulk to make it easy to mail and love how all the layers work together.

Ginger dude

Came across this cute patterned paper in my stash. Can't even remember where I got it or who the manufacturer is but I thought it would look cute combined with some other patterns. Got out the sewing machine for this one. Gingerbread anyone?

Hello friend

Some days crafting seems like hard work but I had a really productive weekend where everything just seemed to come together and I added several cards to my stash. For this card I used one of PTI's Edgers dies - a fun way to add a decorative edge to a card:

Patchwork card

Trying to mix it up and try out some different card designs. Don't think I've used this layout for a while.  I didn't want to use a square card base as they can be more expensive to post, so it took a bit of trial and error to work out what size rectangles I needed to cut.  The cheery coloured papers are a mixture of PTI and DCWV:

Hello

I like my circle flip-it die so much, I was tempted by another one in my LSS. It was on sale too, so bagged a bit of a bargain. This is the fancy label flip die - love the shape and can't wait to make some more!
