Deepest Sympathy

I seem to have been making a lot of sympathy cards recently. Here is one which features two of my favourite stamps - PTI's Turning a New Leaf and Rose Background from Hero Arts.  Probably hard to see from this angle, but all the roses are at slightly different heights to add a bit of depth.

Take 2 - vintage labels

When I find a sketch or colour combo that I like, I've started making 2 cards - 2 takes on the same layout or element. Here are a couple of cards I made recently which use Very Vintage Labels 5 from Waltzingmouse stamps.

The rosette flower was made by gathering ribbon (using a running stich close to one edge) and layering it on a circle die cut.  I adhered mine using scor tape but you could use fabric glue:

Make it Monday #6

Two in a row. Can't believe it. Mind you, just sneaking in with this one. It's already Monday here (thank goodness for the international date line).  This week's Make it Monday challenge was to use a partial debossing technique. Actually mine's a partial embossing technique using a cuttlebug folder. I do have some PTI impression plates, but didn't have one which went with this frame.  Here's what I came up with:

Supplies
Paper - PTI plum pudding, lavender moon
Stamps - PTI Asian Fusion (sentiment), Waltzingmouse Very Vintage Labels 5
Ink - PTI plum pudding, fresh snow, vintage tea dye duo

C1934

I love Cosmo Cricket's circa 1934 patterned paper. My mother has a friend who is really into the 20s and 30s, so I decided to use incorporate some paper and chipboard elements into her birthday card.  The card came together quite quickly and I'm pleased with how it turned out:

PTI Make it Mondays challenge #1

Papertrey Ink have started a new weekly challenge called 'Make it Mondays'. The first challenge which you'll find here is to create a go-to sentiment card. I've had a crazy week at work, so many things I had to get done -including making several sympathy cards :( - but I've finally got time to make and post my card.  Here's what I came up with:

I decided to use a sentiment 'block' (not sure what else to call it) as the focal point. I arranged all  the sentiments on my card, then picked them up with an acrylic block so I could stamp them at once. One didn't fit so I stamped it separately using red ink:
