Make it Monday #246 - faux brush lettering
I'm trying to take part in more of the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday challenges. This week's challenge from Amy is to use faux brush lettering in a project - and I found it to definitely be a challenge! Great idea though, as I don't really like my handwriting ;)

Make it Monday #245 Colour Isolation
Just squeaking in with an entry for this week's MIM. Great technique from Ashley, and I managed to make a couple of extra cards as well.
Here's what I came up with:

PTI Make it Monday #244
And here's what I came up with - using PTI's Bold Blossoms stamps and dies and a sentiment die from Paper Smooches:
And a close up as the score lines aren't that easy to spot!

Papertrey MIM #100
Yes, it's the 100th Make it Monday challenge at Papertrey Ink. You can see the details and play along here. This challenge couldn't have come at a better time, because I was looking for ways to package up this card and send it to a friend who's just had a baby boy:
Since the ribbon round the sweater makes it a bit bulky, I decided to make an envelobox for mailing. I followed the instructions in this post and am really pleased with how it turned out. I used the same patterned paper I used on the card, together with the cute heart from Knit Bits. I die cut and stamped the address label for more of a polished look:
The envelobox is about 1/4 inch thick which just accommodates the ribbon nicely. Of course, you could always make it a bit thicker by adjusting the score lines slightly. I'm sure I'll be making some more of these!

Make it Monday 99
It's a while since I took part in any Papertrey Ink challenges, so I thought I'd give this week's Make it Monday a go. The challenge was to use a rainbow colour scheme and repeating design. You can check out the challenge here. And here's what I came up with:
Probably not very easy to see, but I popped up the yellow butterfly to give a bit of dimension:

Make it Monday 66
Thought I should have a go at this challenge which is to make flowers using border dies. I used the rickrack and eyelet lace dies for my flower here:
It's already Monday here again, so thank goodness for the time difference!

Make it Monday 64
How about that - second MIM in a row! This challenge was to use colour inspiration, and Nichole provided some colour combos on her blog. This is the photo I chose:
And this is what I came up with. Have to say that I did find trying to use each colour several times a bit of a challenge. Maybe it's something I need to work on some more!
And a close up of the flower:

Other - Tattered Angels glimmer mist

Make it Monday #6
Two in a row. Can't believe it. Mind you, just sneaking in with this one. It's already Monday here (thank goodness for the international date line). This week's Make it Monday challenge was to use a partial debossing technique. Actually mine's a partial embossing technique using a cuttlebug folder. I do have some PTI impression plates, but didn't have one which went with this frame. Here's what I came up with:
Supplies
Paper - PTI plum pudding, lavender moon
Stamps - PTI Asian Fusion (sentiment), Waltzingmouse Very Vintage Labels 5
Ink - PTI plum pudding, fresh snow, vintage tea dye duo
Accessories -Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, bow easy, PTI lavender moon saddle stitch ribbon, plum pudding button, Martha Stewart rinestones, foam tape

Make it Monday #5
I've finally had time to make a card for a Make it Monday challenge over at PTI - mainly because this was something I'd already started working on! This week's challenge is to incorporate distressed edges. I used some white ink around the edges of this card and also distressed the top layer. I didn't want anything that looked too distressed, so just used my fingernail!
Supplies
Paper - PTI scarlet jewel, DCWV Marisposa paper stack
Stamps - PTI Butterfly Dreams (sentiment)
Ink - Versamark, PTI fresh snow
Accessories - Tulle, white embossing powder, clear rinestones, sewing machine, clear rinestones
