I've been decorating more notepads for gifts. I'm tempted to give one to almost everybody I know because I'm having so much fun making them. Great way to use patterned paper and they come together so quickly. I give the measurements for the cover in an earlier post:

Embellish holidays colour challenge
I saw the Embellish Magazine holiday challenge using these colours and thought it would be fun to try something other than a card. Since I've been in tag-making mode the last few weeks, I thought I'd just continue! Here's what I came up with:
The tag and 'suburst' shape are free svg files I cut with my cricut. I had real issues with stamping the round tag frame and sentiment - I must have stamped that thing about half a dozen times before I got it properly lined up. Maybe my eyesight is finally going? But here it is in all its glory:
Supplies
Paper - SU pirouette pink, PTI pure poppy, spring moss, cosmo cricket jolly by golly patterned paper
Stamps - PTI 2008 holiday tagsInk - SU riding hood red, versafine onyx black, PTI vintage tea dye duo
Accessories - cricut cie cuts, vintage lace, PTI dark chocolate grosgrain, spring moss satin ribbon, spring moss button, rustic cream button twine, SU felt snowflakes, pink pirouette grosgrain ribbon, red stickles, kaisercraft brad, glue dots, dimensionals, fabric glue, sewing machine

Papertrey November blog hop challenge
Hi and welcome. This month's challenge was to design a holiday tag using some of our favourite products.
Perfect timing because I needed to make some tags for work gifts. This year I'm making chocolate cookies and other homemade treats for some of my co-workers. The recipe for the cookies is from Nigella Lawson and the cookies are just divine! (You can download a copy of the recipe below).
So, here are my cookies:
Download the cookie recipe here (link will take you to MediaFire)
And here are two of my tags. I cut a jar layer from acetate (used the clear boxes PTI stamps come in) to layer over the stamped jar and give it that shiny look:
Supplies
Paper - SU Kraft, cosmo cricket jolly by golly patterned paper
Stamps - PTI firendship jar, friendship jar holiday fillers
Ink - versafine onyx black, memento lady bug, memento cottage ivy, stazon (for jar lid)
Accessories - PTI friendship jar die, jar label die, acetate, Quickkutz metal sheets, SU riding hood red striped grosgrain, PTI rustic cream button twine, green & red stickles, dimensionals.

Notebook frenzy
Ok. I have to confess that I'm now addicted to making covered notebooks. I've seen the fantastic items that others have produced and thought they'd make lovely gifts. I recently bought some of Papertrey's notepads and gave them a try myself.
My cover is an 8 1/4 x 5 3/4 inch piece of cardstock scored along the short side at 2 3/4 and 3 inches to make a spine for the pad. If you want to have a pocket flap on the inside left cover, use an 8 1/4 x 8 1/4 piece of cardstock and score at 2 1/2, 5 1/4 and 5 1/2 (or use Nichole's great template which you'll find here). Then decorate!
Supplies
Paper - PTI dark chocolate, ripe avocado, spring moss, turning a new leaf patterned paper
Stamps - PTI Take note
Ink - SU chocolate chip
Accessories - PTI notepad, spring moss buttons, rustic cream button twine
Supplies
Paper - PTI pure poppy, hawaiian shores, SU kiwi kiss, PTI beautiful blooms patterned paper
Stamps - PTI Take note
Ink -Versafine black
Accessories - PTI notepad, hawaiian shores, simply chartreuse & black felt, hawaiian shores button, rustic cream button twine
