Elegant rose

I'm trying to use up my vast hoard supply of patterned paper. Here are some pieces from Jenni Bowlin's Haven collection. Finally got a chance to use some of my Pinefeather (dark green) ribbon from PTI. I love most shades of green but just find it a bit dark for most things, except perhaps the traditional red/green Christmas colour scheme. And here it looks almost black!

Hi

It's amazing what you discover when you have a bit of a clear out and organise your supplies. I bought some cute Jenni Bowlin paper a while ago and had forgotten all about it. Decided I should whip up a couple of cards. This is one which I might send to a friend who's a bit of a Jane Austen fan:

Emboss resist

A few people on the Papertrey forum were discussing the emboss resist technique. You can find a description of it in this video from Jennifer McGuire.

Decided I should have a go myself. I need some more birthday cards for my stash, so that's what I made. I made the cute bow after seeing this video on Jinny Newlin's blog.

Mini album journal

A while ago I bought a couple of Jenni Bowlin Hodge Podge books. These have a great selection of interesting looking book board, heavy card stock and transparency pages, as well as extras such as seed packets. At the time I probably had the idea of making a mini album but never got round to it! Rather than make an album for photos, I decided to make a mini journal. Haven't made many mini albums but it was a lot of fun!  Here are a few of the pages:

A little whimsy

This is a card I cased from Danielle Flanders' blog. You can see the original here (scroll down a bit). After seeing her card, I just had to have that adorable Jenni Bowlin stamp - what a cutie!  I recycled some of the stamp packaging to make the border:

GratitudeJournal

I was inspired by Dawn McVey's Gratitude Journal stamp set to make a journal of my own.  I decided to use PTI's  coasters as covers, so my album is 4 inches square and bound with a D ring. Jenni Bowlin's Haven paper collection turned out to be exactly the right size.

I decorated my book with journaling blocks, chipboard pieces and various little tags and doodads.  Danielle Flanders gives instructions for the little twine 'flowers' here on her blog.

Webster's pages vintage

I love several of Webster's Pages collections and the petite pages are perfect for card making. Here's one example -  a birthday card.  The ledger paper is repurposed from a Jenni Bowlin stamp packet - I just aged it with some ink:
